Luís Marujo is a Ph.D student in Carnegie Mellon’s School of Computer Science and Instituto Superior Tecnico in Lisbon received his MSc. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in 2009. His research interests include Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, Machine Learning, and Cognitive Modeling applied to Computer Assisted Language Learning. He decided to apply to the dual-degree program in Languages Technologies because it would allow him to expand his researcher skills through the interaction with the best researchers in the field both in the USA and Portugal. In his (almost inexistent) spare times, he likes to read science-fiction books, to play video-games, to learn new languages, to photograph and explore distant countries, to watch a good movie, etc.
