About Carnegie Mellon|Portugal
The Information and Communication Technologies Institute is a partnership between Carnegie Mellon, Portugal’s national science and technology foundation, the FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia) and several universities as well as several high-tech corporate research groups in Portugal.
The partnership offers students unique Dual-Professional Masters, Doctoral and Post Doctoral degree programs. Successful graduates receive degrees from Carnegie Mellon and the partner Portuguese institution. For more information, view our programs page.
The intellectual focus and theme of the Carnegie Mellon|Portugal partnership is information and communication technologies, placing emphasis on four key areas:

Includes Information Networking, Software Engineering, Information Security, Language Technology, and Critical Infrastructure - Sensing Technologies & Networking
Includes Distributed Inference, and Risk Assessment & Management - Technology, Management & Policy
Includes Technical Change & Innovation, Engineering and Public Policy for Network and Software Industries - Basic Sciences
Includes Applied Mathematics
ICTI established the Carnegie Mellon|Portugal program to collaborate on research and educational programs in key areas of mutual interest. Annual calls for research proposals are made. Additional information will be made available on our home and news pages.
