Open Call for the Pitch Coaching Session “Product Idea”

Deadline to submit a proposal: June 14, 2013 (extended deadline)

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Workshop, which will be held on June 20, 2013, at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento, in Lisbon, will have a Pitch Coaching Session. The session is mostly oriented to students and faculty members with an interest in getting feedback about commercialization pathways for their research.

The goal of the session is to have students and faculty members explaining a product or service idea, based on their research, and how it will satisfy customer needs. The focus is not on describing the technology and the research, but instead on the application, i.e., the product/service and its market. At the end of each 5 minutes presentation, a panel with the speakers that will be in the remaining workshop sessions will provide feedback according to their experiences and backgrounds.

The deadline to submit a proposal is June 14, 2013. The directors of the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program will analyze all the proposals, and feedback will be provided by email until June 17, 2013.

To submit a proposal, please send an email to event@cmuportugal.org containing:
       a) Personal Information: First name; Last name; Affiliation; Email
       b) Presentation Proposal with 6 slides.
       IMPORTANT: Provide the best information that you currently have for the following topics. You do not need to have a complete answer for all of them.
          1. Title
          2. What is your product/service? Why is it innovative?
          3. Who is your customer? How does your product/service create value to your customer?
          4. What is the market, its size and growth?
          5. Who is your competition? How does your product/service compare to the competition?
          6. How do you intend to develop IP protection?
