Manuela
Veloso at the 2nd Edition of Business Transformation Summit
Professor Manuela Veloso, head of
the Machine Learning Department at the School of Computer Science at Carnegie
Mellon University and CMU Portugal Program PI in two research projects, is one
of the three speakers highlighted at the Business Transformation Summit.
The Business
Transformation Summit is organized by CEGOC, a leading international
professional training company, and will take place in October 17, 2017, at the
Lagoas Park Congress Center in Oeiras. The event also features international
keynote speakers such as Gerd Leonhard, future strategist and CEO of The Future Agency,
and Laura Overton, founder and CEO of Towards Maturity, Professor at the
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Learning and
Performance Institute in UK.
Professor Veloso will address the Human-Machine
relationship with her talk "Human IA Interaction - How the Interaction
with Artificial Intelligence Will Impact the future". Manuela Veloso is regarded
as the leading expert in the fields of artificial
intelligence and robotics, with an ever-growing list of speaking engagements in
the matter. Prof. Veloso describes her research goals as the "effective
construction of autonomous agents where cognition, perception, and action are
combined to address planning, execution, and learning tasks".
